When I was younger I used to think being confident was a bad thing, like it made you stuck up or something. Being confident is not thinking that you’re better than anyone else. Being confident is walking into a room and not having to compare yourself to others.
It’s taken me a very long time to understand how important being confident in yourself is. It’s taken me an even longer time to be able to walk into a room and not compare myself to every girl in there, finding ways in which they’re better. If I listened to every negative thing I’ve been called in the past I probably wouldn’t even leave the house. I want every girl out there to understand that another woman’s beauty is not the absence of your own. Remember this when you’re 500 posts down someone’s insta thinking ‘how the fuck has someone been put together so perfectly?!!!!’.
Learning to accept and love yourself is the best thing you can do, no one else is going to do it for you. Imagine how boring it would be if we all looked the same, so stop comparing.
Refuse to find comfort in other women’s flaws, instead find comfort in yourself. When you change your mindset the way you look at yourself in the mirror will change, as will the way you look at others. Every girl is beautiful in her own way and I hope girls can be secure enough in themselves to support each other instead of competing.
